the metallic tang reminded me of the slight ringing scouring pads let off. my mind then natural wandered to the most disturbing imagery i could conjure which was a mouth with teeth of scouring pads. the clanging and disruptive noise in the head - i hated it. i wanted something oppressive, that sat on the tongue, that took up space. that didn't allow room for the instrumentation to come through; the voice in the form of the midi tuba, trumpet and alto sax. i didn't want them to have space.
i'm sure you could pull all sorts of freudian nonsense from what i just typed.
